MiFo privacy policy
Effective 28 August 2026
MiFo is an iOS app for airline pilots. It is built and operated by an individual developer, not a company, and it is designed so that your data stays on your device and in accounts you control.
What MiFo stores
- Your profile: home base, rank, pay level, agreement and, if you enter them, your name and staff number. Stored on your device and synced between your own devices through your iCloud account.
- Roster data: the duties, crew names and notes published on your crew portal, fetched with the portal login you enter. Stored on your device and in your iCloud account.
- Logins: your crew portal, NAIPS and other service credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain on your device. They are never sent anywhere except to the service they belong to.
- Weather and NOTAM data: fetched from the aviation weather services you have accounts with, cached on your device.
Calendar sharing
If you turn on calendar sharing, MiFo writes your roster into a calendar you choose.
- Apple Calendar: MiFo asks iOS for calendar access and writes events into the calendar you pick. It only ever reads, updates or deletes events it created.
- Google Calendar: MiFo asks you to sign in with Google and requests permission to manage your calendars (the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendarscope) and to see your email address. With that permission MiFo creates a calendar for your roster, writes your duties into it, keeps it in step when your roster changes, and, only when you ask, shares it with people you name. MiFo only reads, updates or deletes events it created; it does not read your other calendars or events. The sign-in token is kept in the iOS Keychain on your device and is sent only to Google. Signing out revokes it.
You choose what goes into the shared calendar. Crew names are off by default and are never included unless you switch them on.
MiFo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the calendar sharing feature you turned on; it is not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared with anyone except as needed to write to your calendar.
What MiFo sends elsewhere
- Requests to your crew portal, weather services and Google, using your own accounts, to fetch or write your data.
- Optional personal services (voice briefing, observation logging, roster archive) are off by default and post only to a server you configure yourself.
- No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party tracking.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. Data in your iCloud account can be removed from iOS Settings under iCloud storage. Google calendar access can be revoked at any time from your Google Account permissions page, and the calendar MiFo created can be deleted in Google Calendar.
